Lost Ark developers are racing against the clock to relieve the strain on servers following the massive launch

The creation of a new region is the “only way to accommodate more players.”As part of an effort to alleviate long login queues for European players, Lost Ark, the massively multiplayer game that has taken the Steam platform by storm, will receive a new server region.

According to peak concurrent players, the game had an extremely successful launch weekend, and it quickly rose to become the second most played game on Steam of all time. With 1.33 million players, it narrowly beat the peak numbers of Steam stalwarts Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2, but fell far short of the 3.3 million players recorded by PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in the first few weeks of January.

However, the question remains as to how many of those million-plus players were actually engaged in the activity. Despite the fact that Lost Ark appeared to have had a smooth launch in the Americas, European servers have been plagued by extremely long login lines. Each moment during the weekend, several hundred thousand European players were eagerly awaiting their chance to participate in the game.

As a personal example, when I attempted to log into the game in London on a Saturday afternoon, I discovered that most servers had queues of between 8,000 and 13,000 players, making it take me more than an hour to log on. I was fortunate in that I had the Triangle Strategy demonstration on hand.)

Long login queues at the launch of a new online game or major expansion are nothing new, and they usually subside within a week or two after the game or expansion is released. However, Lost Ark’s launch issues appear to reveal a lack of adaptability in the game’s setup, cheap lost ark gold as well as a disparity between the game’s launch strategies in the United States and Europe.

Some members of the Lost Ark community expressed dissatisfaction with what they perceived to be an underestimation of the game’s European market. The gift will be made available after the new server region goes live, and anyone who plays the game before March 1 will be eligible to receive it.
