Common Mixer Grinder Problems and Solutions

A mixer grinder is one of the very basic cooking appliances without which we cannot imagine effortless cooking. From grinding chutneys and blending smoothies to powdering spices and mincing meat, this appliance has become a crucial part of every kitchen. High-quality mixer grinders from reliable brands serve your needs effortlessly for several years. However, there are chances that you could encounter some minor problems in between. Let’s take a look at how to troubleshoot the common mixer grinder problems. We have also listed some effective solutions for the same.

The Mixer Grinder Is Not Working

In case the mixer grinder is not working, check whether there is a problem with the plug and the socket or switch. Try switching it off and turning it on again. Try connecting the appliance to different plug and socket and check if it works. If it fails to work even after this, get it checked by a technician.

Jar Problems

One common problem faced by most of the users while using a mixer grinder is that the jar gets broken or the insulating gasket of the lid falls off. This is either caused by misuse of the mixer grinder or that the jars or caps are of poor quality. However, this problem can be easily solved by keeping the mixer grinder and its accessories in a safe condition. Also, ensure that the blades are properly tightened. If the jar has cracks or has been broken, then it should be replaced with a new one. If you are facing jar leakage issues, fasten the screws of the jar handle tightly.

Blade Problems

Sharp blades make all the difference when it comes to the consistency of the food to be processed. This helps you get the right texture without having to go over it again. If the blade turns blunt, the appliance may be unable to grind things to the right texture. You may have to get the blades replaced to get it back in shape.

Tripping

Overheating may cause the mixer grinder to trip. To prevent overheating and tripping, avoid using it continuously at a stretch. Use it after a certain cooling-off period. Let the appliance cool at least 15 minutes after using it. Avoid grinding hot things in the grinder. The best way to prevent this from happening is to allow the appliance to rest between grinding for about five to ten minutes. By not doing this, you will be forcing more heat into the grinder, and more heat means more damage to the appliance.

Another common reason for the mixer to trip is when the maximum electricity limit is exceeded. You need to make sure that the right amount of electricity is used for the kitchen appliances. Doing so will prevent the mixer from tripping.

The problems that are listed above are the common ones that people face with their mixer grinder. We hope these solutions help you overcome the problem. If you are not able to troubleshoot the problem on your own, seek expert help and get the appliance checked by an electrician.
